THE ROADHOUSE is one of Birmingham's best live music venues. With live music most nights of the week - from tribute acts, signed touring bands, unsigned bands from all over the UK, jam nights, metal, rock, pop, acoustic, jazz, folk, reggae, ska, hardcore, blues, funk, r'n'b..... (the list goes on and on) - there will be something for everyone!
The RoadHouse Club was first set up on an informal basis for local friends and music lovers after the closure and eventual demoltion of the nearby "Breedon Bar" - for many years the area`s leading music venue.
What had been just a bar in a sports centre was transformed into today's GREAT venue. From very humble beginnings with decidedly sparse facilities and equipment, we have progressed steadily since 1999 to the stage now where The RoadHouse is widely regarded amongst both artistes and audiences as one of the best live venues in the Midlands.
We are renowned for our intimate, relaxed and friendly ambience to rival even the established top venues, with more comfortable, interesting and visually appealing surroundings than almost anywhere else.
The venue itself is acoustically excellent with a superbquality PA plus lighting and capacity for 250 people. We are renowned for our intimate, relaxed and friendly ambience to rival even the established top venues, with more comfortable, interesting and visually appealing surroundings than almost anywhere else.
The RoadHouse must surely be your first choice for a great night out; with first class musicians from all over the world. With FREE admission nights and great value ticket prices, we present musical genres to suit most tastes from accoustic to rock, from bluegrass to reggae.
Check us out! We are certain you will find every word here rings true on your first visit - and that you will want to return again and again.
REVIEW BY JACK TRAVELLER - WWW.ONEMETAL.COM
'THE ROADHOUSE IS A MEDIUM SIZED LIVE MUSIC VENUE WHICH FLOURISHES AS PART OF BIRMINGHAM’S FERTILE ROCK AND METAL SCENE. ALTHOUGH LOCATED IN ONE OF THE SUBURBS AS OPPOSED TO THE CITY CENTRE, IT IS SURPRISINGLY EASY TO FIND – A MERE 5-MINUTE WALK FROM BOURNEVILLE STATION. IF YOU’RE A SEASONED GIG GOER, USED TO BRAVING UNKNOWN TERRITORY IN YOUR QUEST FOR MUSICAL PERFECTION, BUT CONSTANTLY UNDER THE YOKE OF THE CRUMBLING, BAROQUE LEVIATHAN THAT IS THE INFRASTRUCTURE OF BRITISH PUBLIC TRANSPORT AND THE FICKLE, CAPRICIOUS GUIDE THAT IS GOOGLE MAPS, THEN A TREK TO THE ROADHOUSE IS A PLEASANTLY UNCOMPLICATED, AND THANKFULLY BRIEF EXPERIENCE – NO DOUBT ONE OF THE REASONS IT DOES AS WELL AS IT DOES, IN THESE DARK DAYS OF BARELY SUPPORTED MUSIC SCENES AND VENUES CLOSING LEFT AND RIGHT. ONCE YOU ARRIVE, YOU ARE REWARDED WITH A SPACIOUS STAGE ROOM, WITH A LARGE AND WELL APPOINTED STAGE, FLANKED BY A MAIN BAR THAT IS DELIGHTFULLY EASY ON THE WALLET. THERE IS AN OUTDOOR SMOKING AREA PROVIDED WITHIN THE VENUE ITSELF FOR THOSE WHO CRAVE THE BITTER EMBRACE OF NICOTINE, AND IF YOU’RE IN A BAND, THERES EVEN A GREEN ROOM WITH TEA MAKING FACILITIES. BY COMPARISON WITH SOME OF THE VENUES ON ITS LEVEL WITHIN THE UK, THE ROADHOUSE IS A VERITABLE PALACE.'

ROADHOUSE DRINKS POLICY
ANY DRINKS (including soft drinks) NOT PURCHASED FROM THE VENUE WILL BE IMMEDIATELY CONFISCATED & REFERRED TO MANAGEMENT
Bringing drinks in to the venue may only seem a trivial issue to some - However - When the majority of the time a 100% of the door sales belong to the bands (and quite rightly so) – how do you think the venue survives?
The venue survives from profit off the bar sales, so take that away and it seriously jeopardizes its future long-term - So it is actually the difference between the venue making a profit and not and therefore staying open or not - It’s that simple –
The Roadhouse Birmingham does everything it can to help support the Birmingham Live Music Scene. We work very hard, against all odds, to keep it open and trading – so please look after your small Independent Venues!
We support the scene and the scene needs to support us!
Thank You for your co-operation in this matter
